Father, strip me of all religiosity;
All I am pressured to be but am not;
The outward superfluity denying Truth,
Exchanging it for opinions the eluviations,
Of human thoughts and actions, the outward
Appearance of being something that is nothing;
Let my actions speak Your Truth louder than words
I write or say, that may cause others to think that I am
Something when I’m nothing, apart from You, Great I AM!
And Your Son Jesus, a person not a religion, who died for man;
Making it possible for me to walk with You each and everyday,
Secure in Your love, guidance, and provision on the Living way!
Beautiful poem. Jesus is more than a collection of rites, rules and rituals…He’s our Redeemer revealing God.

Yes and when we have Him as the foundation of our faith, all those pointless things we get caught up doing will be burned away but He remains. That’s a wonderful thing.:0)

Yep…when we get all “religious,” we screw it all up.
Nice poem, as always Pam.

Thank you, Wally. One thing I don’t want in my life is religiosity, it is poison.
